Finding and Funding the Best College for Your Child

In this two hour seminar I address the subject of finding and funding the best college for your child. The material presented is based on approximately one hundred hours of research spent in the pursuit of helping my two sons through the college search, selection, and funding process. I traveled with each of my sons to numerous private and public colleges and universities located in multiple states around the country. Conversations were held with many admissions officers as well as with a professional financial advisor, who is particularly well-informed with regard to college funding and financial aid issues.

This seminar was presented on May 9, 2012, to the staff of Bethel World Outreach Church and to select guests. The audio has been divided into four MP3 files, which are downloadable via the links provided below. The lecture notes, which are in PDF format, can also be downloaded via the link provided below.

For those who are interested, my sons attended Claremont McKenna College (a small private college located in southern California) and the University of Washington (a large public university located in Seattle). At the time of this post, my eldest son is currently attending Harvard Law School, while my youngest son is currently formulating plans for pursuing a Master's degree.

The following schools were visited as part of my research:  Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Tufts, Boston University, Washington University, USC, UCLA, Seattle Pacific University, Chapman University, San Jose State University, University California Irvine, and of course, Claremont McKenna College and the University of Washington. In addition, I was already familiar with both the University of Oregon and Oregon State University.
